Eastern Hills has been our home church since we moved to Colorado over sixteen years ago. It
has been a blessing to be part of Ehills’ growth over that time. I currently serve as a Sheepdog,
and previously served in Kids, Care Team, #ForAurora (including a trip to Villages of Hope in
Zambia), and community groups. I am grateful to be experiencing the greatest love story and
look forward to what God has in store for our community.

Who is in our family:
- I am married to my best friend Ellie. We have 3 kids Mason (6), Jackson (4), & Johnson (1)
I previously served on the Elder Board from 2018 – 2022. I have served in Kids Ministry and Lacuna. Beyond marrying Ellie, the single most influential decision that has led to the growth in my faith and relationship with Jesus has been attending and prioritizing my involvement in The Harbor. The vulnerability, accountability, and intentionality that I have found in that community of men has transformed every aspect of who I am. It makes me a better follower of Jesus, husband, dad, son, friend, boss, employee, neighbor, etc. We have found a community at ehills where each member of our family is thriving in. We are committed to continuing to find ways to do our part to engage in God’s mission for ehills and to help this community thrive.

April Dougherty:
HOW LONG AT EASTERN HILLS?
- Since 2018
WHO IS IN OUR FAMILY:
- Jerry and April, and three sons (David, Colby, and Chris)
Eastern Hills has been a place where Jerry and I have grown in faith and community since we first began attending together and later married as a blended family. We’ve served side by side on the Welcome Team, as Deacons, in the Blended Family Community Group, at the Christmas Store, and in Alpha. I’ve also served in Marketplace and a women’s community book club. I’m excited about our vision for church planting and honored to serve on the EHills Leadership Board. It is an honor to help build the foundation that will carry the hope of Jesus into our community and beyond.
Justin Goree:
HOW LONG AT EASTERN HILLS?
- Since 2019
WHO IS IN OUR FAMILY:
- Justin, Renee, Monty, and Sunnie
My family and I have served at several churches in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. We made EHills our home in 2019, and I currently serve the community through the Backpack ministry, Christmas store, Welcome Team, and by co-leading a small group with my wife and close friends. I am excited and feel privileged to be a part of the amazing work God is doing in our community and at EHills.

HOW LONG AT EASTERN HILLS?
- Since 2017
WHO IS OUR FAMILY:
- I’m a second mom to Bryce and Brynna and like a grandmother to two wonderful kids—Violet (7) and Calla (3)—plus a playful Swiss doodle pup, Bella.
Eastern Hills is such a special place, and I believe God is doing something amazing here! I’m grateful and excited to be part of it. I’ve loved serving as co-leader of Faith@Work, as well as an online host and greeter. In the past, I’ve also enjoyed leading table groups and small groups, and serving as a table host for Alpha, women’s retreats, and conferences. I believe I bring a unique and valuable perspective to the table. My career has included leadership roles in both business and nonprofit settings, along with service on nonprofit boards and in leadership within large churches. These experiences have deepened my understanding of organizational leadership, team dynamics, and mission-driven impact. I love EHills and am passionate about its mission. It would be an honor to use my gifts in a broader capacity and contribute to the church’s continued growth and impact.
